History

The Fjord brand originated in Norway, where coveted cruising motor boats had been built since the 1950s. In 2007, Hanse Yachts AG took the helm and embarked on a consistent new direction: Away from the classic shape to create the avant-garde of pleasure boats. As the first new yacht, the Fjord 40 Open set clear standards in the 40 ft class. Clear, angular, simple: This was the modern style the industry experts had been waiting for. At its premiere at the "boot" in Düsseldorf, the Fjord Open 40 was named "European Powerboat of the Year 2008".

Future

Since the triumph of the Fjord 40 Open, boat experts know what to expect from Fjord: Challenging styling with a powerful external impact–intelligent comfort with an eye for the practical on the inside. High speed and spectacular design are in the DNA of every Fjord motor yacht. This is guaranteed by an experienced team of top-class specialists. The designs from Patrick Banfield come from the Cote d´Azur. Australian design engineer Jim Wilshire takes these plans and turns them into construction plans suitable for practice. In Greifswald on the Baltic Sea, the plans are then turned into a floating reality: The Hanse Group uses all its experience as one of the most modern European yacht shipyards in this process. This international team produced all the current models in the Fjord product range: the Fjord 36 Open, the Fjord 36 Megayacht Tender and the Fjord 40 Open. The prototype of the new flagship, the Fjord 48 Open, is currently being built. Bright prospects for the future of pleasure boats. The Fjord background is right. The new world of yachts is coming.
